Kids In Love Video

The new "Kids In Love" music video is not an April Fool's prank. When we were approached with video treatments for the song we had the option of making something controversial or just making a run of the mill video. Looking at the treatments we felt that a more risque video would capture the meaning of the song, or at least give the lyrics a darker more edgier twist. I think it would have been very easy for us to make a cheesy video that had no heart in it. We decided as a band that it would be more meaningful to make a video that evokes some sort of emotion, whether it be disgust, joy or whatever. In my opinion too many videos come out that have no lasting effect on the audience. Hopefully this video will have some lasting effect. I feel that as a band this video is in no way a promotion of drug use or sex or anything like that. Instead its just an artistic statement, just an example of how some people live, and the naïvety of youth. It shows the ecstasy and pain of love, innocence, and beauty. As a band we stand behind this video as an artistic statement. I love the video because it makes me feel something, and that to me is what art is all about. I hope you'll watch the video and make your own opinion of it, but just keep in mind that it is not a promotion of vice but an exhibit on what it means to be young and in love, capable of making bad choices but having the time of your life while you live it.

Do you know where I can get my hands on a download of the video? iTunes won't sell it, YouTube blocked it, and it's my favorite music video of all time.

I have mixed feelings on the video. On one hand, I was a bit disgusted, and I thought the nudity was excessive. We all know that the kids were having sex, did the video really have to show it? It seems cool now, but what happens when the actors in the video have kids that watch it? I'd be embarrassed as a kid to know that mommy or daddy did those things on camera.. It's videos like this that make kids think that values are a thing of the past, and that they can be completely wild with few or no consequences.
On the other hand, the video made me wish I had more excitement in my life. It made me wish I had someone I could just let loose and enjoy life with. I think the censored version of the video is a good balance of capturing the meaning of the song while still maintaining some dignity. It's definitely a video I'll remember for long time.

So I just finished watching the video and it evoked so much in me! It is natural and real and holds so much truth. The video is my definition of being young. I am not trying to say that every young person is going to go round doing shit like that but some do, and that video highlights it all. I love it, it is definitely original and kept my eyes on the screen because it was something that many "kids" can relate to. Mayday, I love you even more for taking a chance and making that video.

i dont get it. all time low can feature alcohol, a strip club, and a young woman on a pole being portrayed as a sexual object by the band because she is attractive via their perception of beauty, and you all eat it right up just because they make it look like one big joke. hypocritical?
i've been listening to mayday since '06 and have loved everything they've put out up until the new album. though im not into a majority of it personally, the kids video reinforces why ive followed and backed these dudes for so long. mature, creatively independent, and emotionally genuine artists. well done fellas!

EEEP. Thank you so much, suburbnthrills.

That video was amazing. So raw, so real, and so emotional.
I'm proud of Mayday Parade, they definitely proved they can break the mold they put themselves in (not saying that in a bad way at all, btw).
I don't usually like to throw this out there, but the only people that don't/can't like this video are hardcore bible-huggers and the uptight percent of straightedge kids.
This video kinda gives me a heads up on what my future will be like one summer, and I know Mayday Parade will be the soundtrack of it all. Like they always have been.
