What is your opinion of the new music?

Though the album hasnt came out yet it has been what i been anticipating ever since i found the band back in Feb.

The music is great! I love Kids In Love after hearing it once it became my newest favorite mayday song after Jamie All Over but theres something missing to me anyway.

D: Jake isnt DOING ANY VOCALS

i miss his vocal harmony between Sanders (sorry i cant spell his first name forgive me) Like in Miserable At Best. The Vocals were Amazing and they had such great flow and in Jamie All Over. It just doesnt sound the same to me.

I still have hope that they will include a song with Jake and Sanders both bearing vocals

here I wait.

im sure someone addressed this but the only time Jake and Derek sing is live, and yes it is amazing, however the voice on the old cd was Jason Lancaster, and I believe thats the reason split vocals are gone is because with out him in the band there was no need to write them, that and Jason was pretty much the key lyricist, but yea i wish they would have a Jake and Derek song because to be honest i think Jake is an extremely talented vocalist.

It took me a few trys before i got used to it and started enjoying it. I like how they have gotten a bit darker, like in "The Silence". I can't wait until they start uncovering more of that darkness in albums to come.

I do, however, miss those amazing ballads and the delicateness of the piano that went perfectly with the words that cut like a knife. Miserable at Best and Three Cheers for Five Years(Acoustic) leave me speechless, still. It seems they dont have that on their new album, but I hope they do something like those sometime again.

i do miss Jake's vocals but i don't think it changed the sound so drastically that i'd be upset. listening to all 3 CDs together i realized how complete their sound was with there latest addition. perfect mix of fun upbeat and beautiful sound.

The Silence is different.... but i really like the new sound. of course Kids in Love and Anywhere But Here sound similar to The old stuff. Old, new, i love it all. can't wait for fall ball

I hope there will be some harmonies. That kind of made MP stand out from the other bands, plus it makes the music sound really beautiful, but even if there's not, Derek Sanders sings really well and the instrumentation is awesome enough that I have no doubt it still will be a really great album. I can't wait for 10/6!

I LOVE Kids In Love....and I think that the whole album will be great because A Lesson In Romantics was great so this one will be.....I do like Derek's voice though and think it has gotten better since the last one. I think they are showing a much more mature side...I feel that the songs I have heard seem deeper.

I'm actually really pleased with the new album. I've heard maybe 6 songs from the album and they sound great. The songs definitely don't lack anything for me. I think the lyrics are amazing and the guitar lines and melodies are definitely hitting the tight chords for me.

The vocals you're talking about are actually by Jason but he left the band right after they finished recording Romantics. And I think Derek's voice has improved a lot. I personally like his voice better than Jason's anyway. They did have great harmonies but I don't think anything is taken away from the album just because they're not there. I'm pretty positive Jake has started doing some vocals, though. :)
