Do you think MaydayParade was better with or without Jason Lancaster?

So we all know that Mayday Parade first two albums went over well with alot of people. But, after guitar/vocalist Jason Lancaster dropped out, people swore they "sucked". Now he has his own successful band, Go Radio! Tell me if you think they were better with Jason or they are better without Jason. And if you like Go Radio!

I would love to know your thoughts(:

I Think Mayday was great with Jason, but they're still great! As you can see on the new album, can't stop listening it, just amazing.

They sounded great with Lancaster but they both are doing well split up. Mayday created a very good new 2011 album after what was less pleasing 2009 Anything But Here. Go Radio's stuff is just as amazing as MPs new stuff. So it worked out fine

I think they sounded great together. The music had a different style to it that I could remember, not just hear it once and never bother to look it up again. Personally, I loved Jason in the band. When I heard Anywhere But Here was coming out I freaked out and bought it on the first day it was released. I liked it enough, but I thought they could've done better. The cd could've been a million times better. I didn't think they were bad without Jason though, just not what I was used to. i just got the new album though, and I was really happy. Because it proves Mayday Parade is just as good without Jason. Yes I do listen to Go Radio.

with or without Mayday is amazing. but im gonna say at the moment im really enjoying their newest music. I feel the first two albums were great but depressing. The new songs make me smile :)

Derek and Jason's voices together seriously bring goosebumps to me each time I hear it, no matter how many times I hear it. But they don't suck now that he left! Anywhere But Here was definitely not my favorite, but in their new album they definitely showed that they can do this without him. And I've never listened to Go Radio! Hahahah I'm not sure why :)

I love the songs with Jason and they are my favourites, but I love some new songs too, like Save your heart and Still breathing. It's a shame he left Mayday but they're great anyway!

i cant choose!!!with derek and jason, they had songs like 3 cheers for fiive years and one man drinking games (personal favorite). but, even without him, mayday parade means the world to me. with their new self titled album, i think they totally picked themselves back up, and are convincing me that i do like them better with lancaster. but i do enjoy go radio, especially tanks for nothing :)

i think they were way better with jason, not only because his voice is amazing but because the songs held alot of meaning. Don't get me wrong I love derek sanders, and still am a big mayday parade fan.

I think that they were a little better with Jason, but he had a reason that he left, and people need to accept that. But they are still AMAZING without him, and the people that think they "suck" without him really aren't true fans of Mayday Parade... But that's just my opinion.

They wrote great songs when Jason was in the band and now, after he's left they still write amazing songs. In my opinion, people are making too much of a big deal about Jason. He has his own band now and is doing just fine without Mayday and they are doing just fine without him. Terrible things is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and Jason didn't write it. I still love Mayday regardless of whether they have Jason in the band or not.

I think they were a little bit better before when Jason was still in the band, but Mayday Parade still rocks. (: And Derek has a wonderful voice so...I guess..that is kind of a both no and yes answer?

    And Go radio is amazing

They are just amazing. They were with him and they ARE without him. And the people who swore they "suck", what are they doing on this site?

Great Question! Thanks for having the guts to actually post it. I no longer really listen to the band since Jason left. Not only do they NOT harmonize well together, the lyrics are just lacking for me. Jason is what made Mayday, well Mayday. People will disagree with me, but I would be willing to bet their favorite Mayday song is one that Jason either wrote/co-wrote and sang in. I also am disappointed in the members of Mayday. I truly believe they screwed Lancaster over. I also think that if they think they are so much better without him, they should quit singing HIS songs. Afterall, Miserable at Best was wrote by Lancaster about HIS ex-wife. Why would a band even want to sing that. Oh wait, they do because it's Jason's songs that are keeping Mayday afloat.

Honestly, I will only make one statement: the guys are genius without Jason, and quite frankly I favor them much more now that he's gone. Don't get me wrong, the guy is extremely talented and has an amazing voice, but for some reason I just always felt like he never really fit in Mayday, his style is different, his persona is different, and he did the right thing by going his own way. Mayday is awesome and honestly I don't ever listen to Go Radio and Mayday is the only thing I ever listen to religiously. So yeah... I'm glad it is the way it is because Jake, Jeremy, Alex, Derek, and Brooks are incredible together.
