Mayday Parade Discussion

i know a few people who do that. but i wouldnt say theyre fake. And yes i do find it annoying when they dont have their individual opinions and like music for themselves not for others. But liking the music without knowing the band isnt always cause they want to fit in. they might just not be that into them as much as all of us, still we have songs we probably listen to and love, yet we dont know much about the artist.
Also when a bad that you love gets on the radio you should be happy. Its good for the arist.

there's no problem if others like them. and I don't think they have to necessarily know members of the band. it's enough if they like the music.
The other thing is, when people say the band's soooo awesome and they are SUCH fans and they'll like them forever and it's their favourite band. And then, a week later, it's the same with the next band. That's what I hate the most.
And also how you said, people who change their mind because they want to fit in . -,- . that's just sad and nothing else .

i think y'all are being music snobs... obviously you don't know the band personally so stop acting like you know what they stand for... hahahah and furthermore, since when can't all people enjoy music? so what if they don't stalk the hell out of a band? If they like the music who cares? and theres not a doubt in my mind that you have other genres on your computer or iPod that isn't "alternative" or bands that you don't know EVERYTHING about. music is meant to be listened to, whether or not you want to go the extra 10 yards to research their bio is up to you.

yesyesyes! i hate how they are on the radio and people are like "i LOVE that song! i LOVE that band" wtf? they dont know anything about them or what they stand for! leave the alternative music to us and listen to your rap shit! >:/

i completely agree with you although my ame has paramore i it i loveeee mayday parade but if i chage my name to mayday it will go to paramore.net so im just leaving it to paramore sorry but that is completely my sister she tryys to like the music i like but you can tell that she doest because she doest kow a thin about them.

Grace :) - AHH i know. my friend is going to warped, and she only knows one song by mayday parade, kids in love, and only one song by we the kings, skyway avenue, and that's it. it bothers me so much. and i agree with A.Davis also. if you're gonna wear a band tee, at least take the time to learn a song by that band. seriously. i agree that you should help people get to know mayday songs. it doesn't have to do with the music they once liked, if they're interested, then that's a good thing. i just hate the people who aren't interested at all, but pretend.

Well, I have to agree with you that it sort of annoys me when people say that they don't like this type of music and then they suddenly do. But, everyone changes their mind and if your friend likes Mayday Parade, that's fine. Everyone has different interests, but then there will be people who do have the same interest as you, too. Plus, that's good for Mayday Parade also that more people are starting to like their music, too. =)

Hey dont be so mean. If someone is just getting in to Mayday, guide them. Show them who Maday is. Mayday is Pop-punk in my eyes Alternative music sucks.

hah uhm idk if you guys mean me, but probably do and i didn't mean that you have to know members if you like a band its just that she said she was obsessed and normally if you're obsessed you know stuff like that. i sort of meant i hate posers in general. i just gave and example.

what i think the person that said that they have to know the name means, that the person is obsessed and doesn't even know a clue facts about that band!!!

honestly, ive never seen any people like this,cuz the only person i know here in brazil besides me is my brother and another girls from another city, er jk. but the few feel passion. and i mean, they r not fans, they just enjoy the music, and u dont need to know the members name to be a fan i mean, imaaa fan of the kooks for example, and i just know lukes name. haha.. and this country girls seems to be ecletic, thats it

Does it matter if they dont know the band members names? Maybe they heard a song and liked it and only remember a few words and just didnt look it up. people gotta stop being like that. oh youre fake because you only know one song, one line, or whatever it may be. tthats bs. peoples taste in music changes, gotta get over it.

I don't really think people need to be able to name the members of a band to like the music. I like quite a few bands without being able to name a single member because the music sounds good, and to me, a band is more about the music than the people in it. Although I can name all the members of my more favourite bands, I don't think it's as important as being able to know the song titles and lyrics.
She might actually like alternative music now that she's been exposed to it.

What I hate is the people who wear band tees and they can't even name a song by that band.
Ex:
"Nice Nirvana tee! What are your favourite songs by them?"
"Oh, thanks. I like--uh--"My Generation"
"Really? That's by the Who... idiot."
