Mayday Parade Discussion

Mayday, stay as real as ever. You don't need that fake autotune. I'm excited to see them in Warped, and it will remind me how much of a fantastic band they are. Don't change, please.

When bands get more famous they sign to bigger recording studios and the studios fix up their music and their voices so much that it doesn't sound like real music anymore. And Mayday in my opinion is one of the only bands who still make music that sounds real. Like All Time Low, if you compare their first CD to their newest one, they sound like two completely different bands, and people don't want to see Mayday go there.

i mean, i do want the best for them, and i'm really happy that they'll get famous. but i'm scared that the fake autotune will begin to get to them, you know? like, when they begin to have the fame of all of those singers, people will start trying to make them sound more pop-y, and less alt/pop-punk. i would rather hear this on the radio, but with fame comes band sluts. as all time low found out quickly. totally agreed with Mands. all time low was ruined by fame, i would hate if the same happened to mayday.. ahh. this is so confusing.

I love them and I don't mind it too much. But it kinda pisses me off when people go gaga over it and act like it JUST NOW EXISTS and shit...

and its like, a lot of famous band dont make music anymore, they SELL music.... and i think that mayday is too good to start to write shit silly songs, but they wouldnt, cuz their shit is like the good of some other bands.

alright, so i dont want the to get popular because this is what always happens to me. i show my friends the band before theyre popular and they cant stand the music and think i listen to stupid stuff. then they become popular and my friends act like i never showed them the music in the first place. for instance kids in love..as SOON as the new cd came out i bought it and showed it to all of my friends..until the song was played on the local radio station they didnt like it. now its the "anthem" of their summer. the more fame they get, the more posers they get. of course i want the best for the band..but if it was my band i would want true fans..not posers.

thats true! well thank you guys for answering me. now i have two point of views. But now i am leaning towards them being how they are now. i was suprised yesterday at warped to see how many were watching mayday. literally every person was singing along and dancing. i guess theyre more popular here than i thought. yay!

haha i agree exactly with the fake people, it reminds me of the last time i went to their concert, their drum tech was getting the drums sounding right or whatever and a bunch of girls were going crazy saying "jake! jake! i love you! take a picture!!"... im sorry but DO NOT say you love jake so much if you cant tell the different between him and the drum tech! lol

Yeah I want the best for them, but I totally agree with maydayfanatic! I don't want them to be so popular that posers start to like them to try and be cool.

hahah okay i already commented but i agree that i hatee the radio, and if you feel greedy then i'm beyond greedy. my friend ryan and i made a pact that we can't put MP song quotes as statuses on facebook b/c we don't want people to look them up. sounds stupid but that's another way people find out about songs.
