Hello everyone =]

So we all love mayday parade or else we wouldn't bother signing  up for this website or looking in this forum. But my question to you is what was you're first time with MP. For example i heard them on someones myspace in late 2006  and i remember laughing really hard when all of a sudden i heard the word whore. then when A lesson in Romantics came out  there was no turning back. so i just want to know what was your first experience with them. At a concert, like warped tour or with all time low, or myspace?

and for a bonus discussion, what made you fall in love with their music?

Right when Genius started on iTunes, they were the first thing that came up. So i looked them up and saw the title "you be the anchor...". Without even listening to the song i bought it because the title was so beautiful. So i got that one, listened to it and fell in love. i went back and bought the rest of a lesson in romantics and all of tales told by dead friends. I immediately connected to all of their songs and they helped me through so much. Then for my birthday this year i went to their concert, and i was just in love. derek touched my hand three times and we made eye contact, and just after that whole experience i will never be the same.

Sorry but this is gonna be a long story. Well last year i went to the bamboozle roadshow and while waiting for the band members to come out i met this girl and we started talking but i didnt see her for the rest of the night. a couple days later i got a friend request from her on myspace so we started talking some more. i found out she lives in pennsylvania and her favorite band in mayday parade.she LOVES them.i heard of them but didnt listen to them. when anywhere but here came out she said she didnt really like it as much as a lesson of romantics. i then heard save your heart and i didnt really like it. but then a couple months ago i was checking my friends email for her and noticed she had an email from hot topic saying something about a meet and greet with we the kings so i looked and it was for we the kings and mayday parade.i was excited for wtk but was ehh for mayday. because you needed to buy something to get a wristband we went to the mall right away. i already had the wtk shirt and cd so i could either get the mayday cd or shirt. i choose the cd. i listened to it as soon as i got home and realized it was really good! i then went to the m&g and fell in love! i told derek he looked kinda like my friend and jake and jeremy joined in and it was so funny.alex just smiled and laughed at them.brooks was eating licorice and he had one in his mouth when he looked up and i couldnt help but laugh and he laughed back:D i actually have a picture from that day of jake and derek where derek has a cute smile and jake is making a hilarious face.its on my binder for school:) i usually have to flip my binder over because it distracts me. then i finally got a lesson in romantics and it was love at first listen now i am very excited to see them live and the more i listen t them the more i love them!!

I first heard Mayday when my friend found them in December 2008 and he linked me Jersey on youtube, I liked it and downloaded some songs, but I didn't listen properly to them until a couple of months later, around february last year. I was listening to another friend's ipod with her and she put I'd Hate To Be You on, I loved it and since then Mayday have been my favourite band :)
And I finally get to see them in Manchester soon :D

I was waiting for my ride home from work and going through my brother's old iPod and he had like six of they're songs on it and I was like wtf is Mayday Parade so I clicked on "When I Get Home You're So Dead" and instantly fell in love. Then they came to my job (Six Flags) a few weeks later, but I was upset because I was scheduled to work that day and was literally at the same place at the same time, but could not see them :( But it's all good I saw them in Hartford on February 5th

My first encounter was that I use to always watch this girls videos on youtube and one day one of her songs was "Id hate to be you when people find out what this song is about" and I immediately looked them up and was amazed! I started looking at all theres songs and what made me fall in love wth their music was just the lyrics that I could not get out of my head, beautiful voices that sung, and their breathtaking guitar and drum solos! :)

i first heard them on myspace probably 3 years ago..but i just wanted to share my first live experience with them:

I saw the mfor the first time this past November on the AP Tour. The show was the most fun I have ever been to, and we met a lot of people after.

(this next bit is from an article i wrote so it's a little bit formal)

Just as we were about to leave, the lead singer from the band we had been wanting to meet walked past in the middle of the road. He looked over at us as he walked by, so we waved, told him great show, and returned to our conversation. No more than two minutes later I feel a tap on my shoulder, turn around, and am face to face with the singer (Derek).

"Hi!" he said, "I didnt want to seem like a jerk and ignore you so I came to say hello!" I was stunned! I have met so many people, so many musicians, that I can't keep track of the number. Believe me when I say I have never seen a single person approach a group of fans just to say hello. If it happens, there's always some sort of catch, like pushing you to buy their CD, or buy tickets to their show. This man stood with us and talked to us about anything and everything for a solid five minutes. Not a single thing was said about his band after our initial praise and thanks about the show. I cannot even describe the number of times he thanked us just for appreciating his music, let alone coming to see his band play. He even asked us if we wanted any photos or autographs before he had to go.

Seriously, Derek is THE NICEST musician I have ever met in my life. I could not believe he did that and I look up to him even moreso now.

I was on my friend's myspace profile 4 years ago and I fell in love with Three Cheers for Five Years acoustic. Then I kept finding more and more of their music and I couldn't stop! Mayday Parade is like drugs for me. Hah.Haven't been to a concert yet, but can't wait for Warped Tour 2010!

My friend had told me about them hen I was going through some rough times, and it nearly saved my life. I saw them in concert for the first time less than a year ago. I was in love before then, just because of their amazing vocals.

i found them on emusic.com. i absolutely loved their sound, but even more the lyrics were what really made me fall in love.
but now without jason writing and singing with them they just dont appeal to me anymore.

originally found jamie all over on myspace back in 2007, totally on accident. thought it was really catchy and the "all i ask, all i askkk" part totally caught me. so i dug further and found miserable at best and fell in loveee. the song totally fit into my life at the time

It was early 2008 and my friends and I had a paper due, so we went to the library for research and stuff. I can't stand the silence, so I grabbed my friend's mp3 player out of her purse and just hit play. It was just background noise in my ears until the voice caught my attention. I knew it was a song I'd never heard before, so I listened closer. I replayed the song like three times, shoving aside my paper. I was like, "Oh my gosh. This is amazing. Great music and amazing voice!! And thos words! Wow!!!" I finally checked the screen to see what it was-"Walk on Water or Drown"-Mayday Parade. I then went into that file and listened to "Miserable at Best" and "You Be the Anchor." Then I wasn't really paying attention, just getting accustomed, and I heard, "Jessie said she's been here for a thousand days..." and I was like, "Oh man! That's my name!" I then went and downloaded those songs. I was in Walmart and saw A Lesson in Romantics and BEGGED my mom to buy it for me. I listened to that CD for months nearly. I fell in love with Derek's voice, Mayday's music, and those honest words. And that is why they are my favorite band for sure! ^__^
