What's it like to be at a Mayday Parade concert?

(20100228T024820Z )

Whats it like to actually be at a Mayday Parae conecrt? I've read that it's amazing and the energy is through the roof! Are people dancing? Singing along? Screaming and squealing? Whats going on at a Mayday concert? Are the boys even cuter in person? Do they talk alot or just get straight to the music? Whats it like????

Its AWESOMEFANTASTICAMAZIMGMOVING!!! Everyone is dancing and singing along. and all the fans are so squished together (especially at warped which i saw them yesterday!) and its just so idk hard to put in words. Brooks makes it seems like he is only looking at you. Youre lucky if brooks spits water on you! Haha. I love how derek looks you right in the eye if you are at the front row. He stares at you and sings straight to you. I'm sure everyone in the audience feels that way. EVERYONE was dancing. If you see mayday live you have to dance your body just moves with the music!!!

    HEAVEN.

its a mix of all of that really. there are the girls screaming and squealing. the fans that know the lyrics are singing along (well even the ones that don't know them that well are singing too). the band has great energy and the people that go to their shows do too (i've heard the band is super sweet and nice too). i've never actually met them myself though :( (although that is something i do have to do before i die)

    OH MY GOSH!
I went to two this spring. Round Easter in Nottingham and London (UK) with Madina Lake. Right, first off, the whole idea of the tour was pretty cool but I'm not a huge fan of Madina. I went for Mayday. They were technically the second band that played so they only had a half hour set but they were amazing.
There were tonnes of really tall 14 years old there (I'm 20 - it's a bit odd to have people 6 years younger than me be taller than me) anyway, I got right in the middle of it.
The cutest thing is the band's 'pep talk' before they start.
They are just made for it. That's the best way to descibe it. Playing seems so natural to all of them. They enjoy it and the audiance enjoys it.
They played Three Cheers about third on the list and we all just went crazy.
And they really encourage the singing-along-ness :D which is cool.
Afterwards (at Nottingham) Derek went to see Embry play in the Basement room but on his way he was more than happy to chat and have a picture and stuff. In London he was stood at the bar while Madina were on chatting away.
They didn't do tonnes of talking, said it was good to be back across the pnd, talk about their days. It's amazing. I love Derek's actions to Black Cat. :D
I want them to come back to UK to do a headline venue tour. They'd definately be able to! :D

i went to my first one yesterday, ah-freaking-mazing. they only played a few songs cause they were the opening band but still. people were screaming and singing along. a few crowd surfers. the energy was amazing. jake smiles through the whole thing like he's so happy to be there. they talk a little. sing alot. get the crowd pumped upp(: and they make eye contact with you. they dont just stand there and sing. ahah and they hang out after to take pictures and stuff. its great. i cant wait to go to warped and see them(:

It's exhilerating, you get ana drenaline rush. As you watch Derek jumpo up and down and sing with his hands, and Brooks, Cabbage, and Alex jumping to the beat of the music, it's amazing. The fan crowd is amazing, everyone sings and lets loose. They make a liot of jokes. they're really down to earth.

Well the one I went to NO ONE moved for the first bands and I was like freaked out thinking these people better do something. Ha! Yeah thats how it was jumping and screaming and stuff. :)

Yeah and on Miserable at best the same exact thing happened! :)

Then they did an encore and did jersey and One Man drinking games!! :) And confetti! :)

    I agree!!! :) I loved it!

Well when I went last month :D It was actually not all... Mosh pit xD Like the bands before them were, pretty sweet right? But when Mayday got up on stage no one moshed or crowd surfed haha. Evreryone was singing along, clapping, jumping, screaming, etc.

When Derek sang 'Miserable At Best' it was just him and a keyboard. EVERYONE was singing with him :3 And at the end of the song the whole band came out and finished it all up-beatish hahaha.

And they did an encore performance :D They sang Jersey!! And had confetti coming down. All of the boys were sweaty :p Especially Derek and Alex.

So all in all, it was pretty freaking epic. (:

it is AMAZING! i have some videos put up on here and on youtube. everyone yells out the words and tries to sing to derek, and theres people crowd surfing everywhere and ive even seen people start mosh pitting to 'when i get home your so dead'. its crazy! and derek talks a little inbetween songs, but just hearing him talk is almost bettter than hearing him sing :)
